Medication & Health Instructions (Written):
Medication will only be administered with written parental instructions and consent (name of medication, child’s name, dosage, timing, route, storage, and reason).
Medication must be in original packaging with the pharmacy/manufacturer label.
We keep a Medication Administration Record (MAR) noting dose/time given; a parent countersigns at handover.
We do not administer a first-ever dose of any medication (including over-the-counter) during our care.
Emergency medicines (e.g., inhalers, auto-injectors) must be supplied with a brief written emergency plan; training/briefing provided by the parent at handover.
We reserve the right to decline administering medication where instructions are unclear or safety is a concern.
Resting Arrangements for Babysitter:
Parents provide a safe, clean, and quiet place for the babysitter to rest during sleeping hours (e.g., spare room/sofa-bed with clean bedding), with reasonable proximity to hear/respond to the child.
Functional smoke alarms, access to bathroom facilities, and safe room temperature are required.
If no suitable rest space is available or the child requires frequent attention (e.g., continuous waking), the night is treated as a waking night at the agreed hourly rate.
Ensure the home environment is safe and suitable for overnight care.
Provide clear routines/instructions for feeding, sleep, and comfort.
Household definition: Only children permanently residing in the home (no cousins, neighbours’ kids, or sleepovers).
Age range: Care applies to children up to age 16, but note:
Under 8s → full bedtime/sleeping care.
8–16 → light supervision, bedtime routine, settling.
Scope still applies: bedtime prep (wiping, changing, stories, feeding, nappy changes), overnight supervision, morning handover.
Exclusions: bathing, heavy lifting, extra household chores.
Extra hours: £14/hr in 30-min blocks before/after 7pm–7am.

Extended / Out-of-Town Zone:
Any booking beyond 15 miles from DA10 is considered out-of-town and attracts a travel supplement or reimbursement of return transport costs (train, taxi, or fuel).
Where overnight return is impractical, parents must also cover reasonable accommodation and meal (estacode) expenses.
